Is Medavir™ FDA approved and safe for everyone? |

Yes. Medavir’s ingredients are approved under an FDA OTC Monograph. There are two types of FDA approvals for OTC products: (1) the FDA OTC Monograph System, where an OTC product contains an active ingredient that has already been found to be safe and effective; and (2) through approval of a New Drug Application (NDA), typically used for synthetic drugs. Q: How is Medavir™ used? |

Medavir is most effective when applied topically to the affected area when you first feel tingling, itching or swelling under your skin, prior to an outbreak. Why does Medavir™ work better than OTC and prescription products? |
